We still haven't done much of the training with Bella and if anyone has any suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated!!!! Maybe some tips on how you trained your dog, what you did, what did work and what did not work.. Just anything you think that might be helpful.

My boyfriend and Bella having fun in the park!!!

Today, when i came home from school...

Today, when i came home from school i was devastated....
First, i saw that Bella ate 3 candy bars that she stole from the table. Second, the tablecloth was almost dragged down on the floor. And third, she ate my Advanced Tutoring level job certificate that i got a couple of days ago....I was very mad!!!!But now i think about and it makes me smile...She is such a baby!!!

Dogs are truly your best friends!

Dogs are extremely loyal animals who will be sad when you are sad and who will be sharing your happy moments with you. They are always very happy to see you when you come home or just wake up, they will still come to you and will "kiss" your face even though three minutes ago you were angry at him/her, and they will be always there, they will not just leave or run away when you need them the most...They are truly you friends.

This article talks about dogfighting, considering different legal issues as well as providing statistical analysis related to dogfighting business.  In Wyoming and Idaho dog fighting is considered a misdemeanor while for all other states dog fighting is a felony. In some states where the dogfighting is considered a felony, it is still legal to own a fighting dog or be a spectator of a dog fighting sport. The bill was signed by President Bush in May of 2007 that strengthened the federal law by increasing jail sentence up to 3 years and a fine of $250,000. There is also a statistical data that says that in 1992, 2-3% of dogs coming into shelters were pit bulls. •            When I started doing research regarding dogfighting I came across an interesting article that considers moral and financial perspectives of dogfighting. Dogfighting is a bloody sport that gathers audiences of up to 200 people who cheer and make bets from $10,000 to $100,000. Dogfighting dogs are usually American pit bulls that are specifically bred and trained. Fights usually last until one dog will not and cannot continue ending up with severe and often fatal wounds. This article also provides some statistics about dogs that are involved in this bloody sport as well as about other little animals that are used as baits for the training of fighting dogs. It also provides some legal information related to the dogfighting business and where it is prohibited. The main purpose of the article is to inform the readers of how cruel dogfighting sport is, and how important this is to stop the spread of this bloody business. The article is trying to persuade readers to be aware of its brutality which is very relevant to my topic that deals with the cruelty of dogfighting.

I love animals!

I love animals with all my heart and it is always devastating to know that an animal is hurt and suffering somewhere especially when the cause of that is not the natural selection but the consequences of human activities. I was always against any kind of animal testing or dog fighting or even when I see someone who does not treat his/her animal right. Two months ago my life became much brighter as I got a little beagle puppy Bella who is five months old now. She is such a little puppy who fully depends on and trusts to her owners who love and care about her. But there are some people out there who have a lot of dogs but not because they love them so much, but because through these dogs they are making business thus earning a lot of money on making bets on dogs fighting  while their dogs are in pain, bleeding, and suffering. I don’t think I was that much against the dogfighting business as I became now. The reason behind that is maybe I have a puppy now that made me think of that or maybe I did some research and found out some devastating information…

Inhumane society!

As I have started the research regarding dogs fighting, I watched a short video of one of the numerous, unfortunately, dogfights. During and after the video I realized that I’m not only feel sad and want to cry because I know how much these dogs are hurt, but also that I am exceedingly mad on these sadists who make those dogs suffer so that I would do exactly the same thing to them. This is absolutely inhumane and not moral at all. People are breeding the dogs only for one purpose as well as train them to make them hateful and awfully aggressive and only because these people would like to get some “cash”. This still remains a mystery for me when people find it entertaining seeing dogs tearing each other apart, this is heartless.  No to dog fighting!

There are some cruel and heartless people...Unfortunately

One day I came across some pictures of dogs that were involved in dogfighting sport. These pictures were not pretty which made me to see some more and thus I found some articles related to the dogfighting. Dog fighting is a cruel and extremely sadistic type of “contest” where two dogs usually American pit bull terriers, specifically bred and trained, fight each other until one of the dogs cannot or will not continue to fight. The average fight lasts for about one hour but usually it takes for about even two hours. The wounds because of the fighting are extremely severe and often even fatal. Frequently, dogs die because of blood loss, deep injuries, and infection even days after the fight. Often owners of fighting dogs use “baits” like cats, little dogs, and rabbits to train their dogs. The source of these little animals is usually “free to good home” advertisements and stealing from other places. This is very cruel and dog fighting has to be paid very close attention to thus to prevent as many fights as possible.

Time is going so fast!

 It has been more than month and a half since Bella appeared in my life. There have been so many bright events that it is hard to think of a particular one. She is bringing happiness and joy in our lives and makes every day be saturated with a variety of emotions. I was trying to teach her once in a while how to sit and lie down. I know training requires consistency but she is doing very well, she already sits down when I tell her to do so as well as lies down. She also comes sometimes when I call her, but not all the time because she is very stubborn. Several times when we were going for a walk, I led her go off the leash and then spend 15 minutes trying to catch her as she was running away from me thus having a lot of fun and joy. So, my little baby Bella requires a lot of training to do…That would be appreciated if somebody would give me some advises about the training techniques.

Now we are 4 months old!!!!

 My little baby Bella is not that little anymore...On September 19th, she turned 4 months old!!!! Such a big girl! Today we went to the vet and when she weighted her the scales showed 12.9 pounds. Last time we were visiting vet, and it was less than a month ago, i would say a little more than half a month and her weight was 8.5 pounds. She is growing up so fast and this is even sad a little because my little puppy getting bigger and bigger every second...

Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

Only yesterday it seemed that Bella was still such a little puppy who couldn't even bark yet and jump high enough to get to the couch or chair. Today, Bella is capable of so many different things already and i see her learning all of that now. She surprises me every single minute, i am discovering something new with her as she is taking different steps in her childhood. As i am writing that now, she is sleeping right beside me. Today in the early afternoon my boyfriend and Bella went for a walk where Bella was running around which made her very tired.

This is one of the most comfortable positions to sleep and relax...))

Our first days together!

After coming back home on August 17th when we got Bella, she was extremely curious but at the same time cautious about her new environment. She was exploring every single corner in our apartment thus trying to adapt to her new home...I remember that she could not jump on the couch and instead was walking on her back paws laying against the couch trying to find a better and lower spot to get on it. Also, when it was a time to go to bed she made it clear that she wouldn't like to be sleeping in the crate.  That is how she started sleeping on the couch in the living room which she learned how to get on the next day .

My little baby Bella!!!

On a very sunny day, August 17th, my boyfriend and I got a a little puppy who would turn only 3 months in two days. My boyfriend's mom was visiting US and got this beautiful little baby ( she is blue beagle) who we named Bella the same day. During these three weeks there were a lot of indescribable fun, but at the same time there were relatively little sleep...So, my great adventure started three weeks ago that i would like to tell about here in Bella's and my blog!
