• When I started doing research regarding dogfighting I came across an interesting article that considers moral and financial perspectives of dogfighting. Dogfighting is a bloody sport that gathers audiences of up to 200 people who cheer and make bets from $10,000 to $100,000. Dogfighting dogs are usually American pit bulls that are specifically bred and trained. Fights usually last until one dog will not and cannot continue ending up with severe and often fatal wounds. This article also provides some statistics about dogs that are involved in this bloody sport as well as about other little animals that are used as baits for the training of fighting dogs. It also provides some legal information related to the dogfighting business and where it is prohibited. The main purpose of the article is to inform the readers of how cruel dogfighting sport is, and how important this is to stop the spread of this bloody business. The article is trying to persuade readers to be aware of its brutality which is very relevant to my topic that deals with the cruelty of dogfighting.
